Alternative Medicine: Reiki
I've recently had several requests to talk about Reiki so I thought it might be something you would be interested in learning about!
With so many health alternatives out there, it is often difficult to determine what we should try to make us feel better. Reiki is an alternative medicine practice that is quickly becoming well known in the West after having been widely administered and accepted in the Eastern world. It was originally developed in the mid-1800s by the Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui and has since then been adapted by many teachers all over the world. The word Reiki means “universal Life energy” and Reiki touch therapy is used in the same way as traditional massage therapy is to relieve stress and pain, release emotional blockages, accelerate natural healing and balance body energy.
Reiki treatments have been known to:
Accelerate the body’s self-healing abilities including speeding up recovery from surgery or long-term illness,
Reduce side effects of traditional medicine/treatments,
Help relieve pain,
Promote better sleep,
Increase vitality, and
Support and strengthen the immune system.
If you’re looking for a different approach to feeling better, a Reiki treatment may be just the thing for you to explore.
I decided to pursue Reiki for my own benefit and went through all 3 levels: Reiki I, Reiki II and Reiki Master. Each level builds on the previous one to strengthen your Reiki abilities. I have been using it on myself successfully for years. On another note, however, I found that once I was attuned to the Reiki energy, my psychic and mediumship abilities started to open very quickly. I think it is a great way to explore what your gifts may be, while embracing a healing modality that can benefit you for just yourself or for your friends and family.
Learning Reiki is easy. It includes reviewing the history and techniques and then being "attuned" to be able to receive and transmit the energy. I'm going to be holding a Reiki Level 1 class on Saturday, September 30, 2017. It will be limited to 5 people so that everyone will not only receive a treatment but will also learn to give one. The cost is $150 for the 10 am to 5 pm session. If you are interested, please email me at Sally@Spirit-Talks.ca to reserve your spot. They're going fast - only 4 left already!
