Still Excited About Reiki - Level 1 Class September 30!!!!

There are two different branches of Reiki that are widely practiced: the Usui method, or the traditional Japanese Method and a Western Reiki method. The primary difference between the two is that the Western method uses systematic hand placement throughout a treatment versus a more intuitive approach in the Usui method. Having been trained in Usui, I tend to use a combination of the two: I start with the traditional placement of my hands as I move along my client’s body and then follow my intuition when being directed to change course. In one treatment that I did recently, I had moved through the positioning of my hands down to my client’s waist, but was directly very strongly to move back up to her face. As it turned out, she had had a tooth extracted and the area had become infected. After the Reiki treatment, she reported a significant lessening of the pain she was experiencing in that area and the infection healed cleared very quickly.

Since beginning my Reiki practice, I have been fortunate to have many clients tell me how effective their treatments have been. Some have indicated that pain they were feeling was either eliminated completely or significantly reduced. Some have said that after a treatment they have left feel very relaxed and with an overall feeling of well being that has lasted a long time.

A Reiki session is a wonderful opportunity to dedicate some time to yourself to relax and focus on your physical, mental and spiritual health. Commonly called palm healing or hands-on-healing, a treatment is similar to massage where a Reiki practitioner places their hands on or above the body in a prescribed pattern by the head, shoulders, stomach and feet. Some clients report a wonderful sensation of tingling, while others have said they’ve experience a glowing radiance flowing through their body. The experience is different for everyone but each has left feeling better than when they came.
